A lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Adonis has donated food items worth thousands of naira to the less privileged in the society.
Those who benefited were mostly aged in Akure, the Ondo State Capital on Thursday.
Adonis said the gesture was borne out of the willingness to feed the aged and cater for the poor around him.
Speaking with journalists, he said that Holy Spirit instructed him to give to the less privileged in the society and he obliged.
Adonis used the opportunity to call on the well-to-do Nigerians, to help the poor mostly this period that nobody could go out for their legitimate businesses because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He also urged the government to do the needful in providing palliatives to the less privileged in the society so as to reduce the hunger caused by the lockdown.
While appreciating his gesture, Madam Veronica Adanri, a corn seller said she would never forget the hand of gesture extended to her by the lawyer.
Items distributed were rice, Maggi, salts, and money to the aged for the Easter festive season.
