A former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore has called on both political and religious leaders in the country to shun corruption and greediness while they assume leadership positions, attributing the political and economic problems in Nigeria to lack of love for the followers.
The former deputy governor made the call while speaking with journalists, at the 110th annual Choir festival of Cathedral of St. James, Oke Bola, Ibadan, noting that leaders must exercise high level of passion to the welfare of their followers and carry them along in synergy to enhance desired development.
“The leaders and the led must love one another. Whatever we do, be it in governance or religion, must be done with love and above all, leaders should be sensitive to the demand and welfare of their followers,” Sen. Omisore emphasised.
He then admonished all individuals to avoid being greedy and shun the habit of self aggrandizement, noting that by imbibing these godly rules, life would be meaningful for all and the nation would be a better abode for the citizenry.
