The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Mr. Samuel Ajayi, has resigned his position and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

This resignation has upped the ante and increase tension in the battle for the next governorship election in the state.

Ajayi confirmed his resignation to WESTERN POST on Friday over the telephone.

He said he appreciated Governor Rotimi Akeredolu for allowing him to serve the party in that capacity.

Ajayi said he had already pitched his tent with the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party.

The former chairman is an ally of Deputy Governor of the state, Agboola Ajayi, who had also earlier defected from the APC and joined PDP.

The state House of Assembly has been torn over moves to impeach Ajayi as deputy governor for the defection.
