The just-concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward Congress in Ondo state has continued to generate more controversies as party faithful from Ifedore local government area of the state have pushed the case to court over lists submitted.
Addressing journalists in Akure, the Ondo state capital, on Tuesday, Hon Pius Adebusuyi, a former member of the state House of Assembly who kicked against the steps, said that the party may witness total collapse if the needful is not done.
Adebusuyi analyzed that, the governor, Rotimi Akeredolu had urged them to operate on consensus candidate in a meeting organised at the residence of Ondo state House of Assembly Speaker, Rt Honourable Bamidele Oleyeloogun few days before the congress time which they all agreed.
According to him, the original list submitted at the end of the Congress was doctored and changed by the party Chairman, Engr Ade Adetimehin and the Chairman of the congress committee in the state, Mr Gboyega Isiaka against the decision of the majority in the state.
In the suit filed by the Claimants, Mr. Segun Dare Boboye and Hon Idowu Adebusuyi with suit no FHC/ Ak/ /CS/ 72/21 at the Federal High Court sitting in Akure. against All Progressives Congress APC, Mallam Mai Mala Buni, Mr Gboyega Isiaka, Mr Ade Adetimehin ,Tunde Fawoyi, and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), seeking the total notification of the said list.
It would be recalled that the party faithfuls in their hundreds protested on the first day of August 2021 at the party Secretariat over the doctored list which the Honourable Speaker, Bamidele Oleyeloogun pleaded them to be calm that it would be resolved but till date, nothing has been done.
