The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has won 24 out of the 26 seats in the Saturday election while, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has only one.
It was reported that the election was peaceful in some areas and turned bloody in some parts of the state. However, it was gathered that the ruling party in the state, APC bought the conscience of the people all around the polling units across the state through the “vote buying” techniques, so as not to fall prey of the last presidential/ senatorial elections, where the major opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won two out of the three senatorial seats and as well, gave massive votes to Atiku over the candidature of APC, Muhammadu Buhari.
At Oke Aro, unit 5 and 6, an APC agent was caught with huge sum of money of about #500,000 thousand naira in a sack, buying voters card and seducing voters to vote for their candidates.
They give as much as #5,000 to a voter who could vote for their party.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state, released the results of the Saturday election at a later hour on Sunday for the State House Of Assembly and the only senatorial rescheduled election of the Southern Senatorial District of the State.
