Sequel to the crisis that erupted on Saturday in Oba-Akoko, in Akoko South-West Area of Ondo State, over the clash between some political thugs and the security men in the town.
It was reliably gathered by WESTERNPOST that the political thugs wanted to snatch the ballot boxes and were repelled by the combine efforts of the police and the military.
However, the thugs came in their thousands to the collation centre in the town on bikes and started shooting sporadically, which brought about the attention of the military.
During the gun duel with the military, two of the thugs were brought down dead which made the inhabitants ran for their lives.
Moreover, WESTERNPOST learnt that the political thugs were brought from Owo and Ikare-Akoko to rig the election in favour of All Progressives Congress (APC).
The travellers going through the town to Kogi and Abuja are faced with serious and unimaginable stress immediately the state government announced dust to dust curfew in the ancient town late last night.
The announcement was made hours after the news of attack on police patrol vehicles by the irate youths, so as to restore peace.
The town which has been known for its peaceful co-existence from time immemorial, is now a no- go area for anyone.
