Ondo Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi Resigns from PDP

    The Ondo State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, has resigned from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP).

    He is heading for the Zenith Labour Party.

    A statement available to WESTERN POST by his Media Assistant, Allen Sowore, stated that the Deputy Governor appreciated the national leadership and members of the PDP for their warm reception and acceptance in the short period he rejoined the party.

    The chairman of the PDP in Apoi Ward ii of Ese-Odo Local Government Area, Festus Oboro, acknowledged the receipt of the resignation letter on 9th of August, 2020.

    The Deputy Governor had rejoined the PDP on June 21, 2020, at his home town Kiribo.

    He contested the party’s governorship election held on 22nd of July, 2020 which he lost to Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN).

    Many had expected he would be Jegede’s running mate, but Agbooola had his eyes fixed on contesting the October election,
