Ondo State Government has promised the people of Apoi Land, in Ese-Odo Local Government Area, of more developmental projects.
Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said this on Saturday in Oboro during the first coronation ceremony of Kalasuwe of Apoi Land, Oba Sunday Adejimola Amuseghan.
Akeredolu, who was represented by Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, said government had renovated all primary schools in the local government.
Akeredolu said his administration had not only renovated the general hospital in Igbekebo to standard state hospital level, but also equipped it with standard equipments as well as employed over 67 medical staff.
He added that road networks in the town had been tarred to improve road links in the area.
He urged the monarch to continue to foster unity among the 10 communities in the land, like he had done in the last one year.
Earlier, the traditional ruler, Oba Amuseghan who commended the Government for the unflinching support for the region, thanked God for the journey so far,since he ascended the throne of his forefathers.
The kalasuwe also thanked his fellow monarchs in Apoi Land for being resolute in the preservation of the Apoi Culture.
“Although 12 years is a long time for a community to be without a mornach, I will try my best to cover lost grounds in terms of attracting development to our dear land,” the monarch said.
He added that the planned skill acquisition centre for the community, when completed, will develop the youths of the town.
Earlier, chairman of the Coronation Planning Committee, Col. Orire Nikoro, said the people of Apoi were proud of the king,for fostering unity among the people of the land.
Nikoro said the monarch had achieved a lot within the one year of his coronation, especially in the area of education.
The Highlight of the occassion was the conferment of the chieftaincy title of Asiwaju Oluomo of Apoi Land on Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi.
Apoi had been without a paramount ruler for 12 years before the monarch was crowned last year.
