A member of the House of Representatives from Ondo State, Hon. Stephen Friday Olemija, has cried out over alleged attempts to assassinate him and members of his family by some group of people who he alleged had been on his heels for days .

Olemija, a former local government boss in the state, said he had contributed immensely to the development and progress of his community and the state at large, like empowering the youths and the aged among other notable achievements he recorded then in the council.
He said attempts on his life, family and his supporters came as fallout from the September 3 primary election of the All Progressive Congress (APC ) in the state.
The House of Representative member, representing Akoko North East/Akoko North West area of the state, alleged that the supporters of Olusegun Abraham in Ikare~ Akoko masterminded the threat on his life, family and supporters, for supporting an aspirant that is not from his community.
While he posits that as a citizen of the federal Republic of Nigeria, he said he has the constitutional and personal right under the Law to give his support to anybody he feels is capable and qualified to contest and stand for an election, instead of any person or group of people arm~twisting, molesting, harassing and threatening his life and that of his people.
A statement sent to Western Post, alleged that some miscreants in the town who are loyalists of Olusegun Abrahams had attacked and vandalised his constituency office located at Ilepa Street in Ikare ~Akoko and that of the personal chambers of his Senior Legislative Assistant (SLA) worth several millions of naira.
Abraham said he had continued to be receiving series of threat calls and attempts to destroy his properties in the town, noting that he had informed the security agents of the ugly development by this group of people in Ikare~Akoko, allegedly planning to terminate his life and that of his people for no just reasons.
He said the move to terminate his life is based on “petty jealousy over my rising political career and pedigree”. He condemned in totality the “barbaric, uncivilised and crude actions of the few people in the community in interest of peace and development”.
