Ondo PDP Cautions Akeredolu Against LCDAs

By: Temitope Adedeji, Ondo

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Monday cautioned the Ondo State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), against his move of creating Local Council Development Authority (LCDAs) in order not to cause confusion in the state.

The party who spoke through the Director of Publicity of the PDP, Mr. Ayo Fadaka, said it was aware of an alleged plan by the new governor to embark on the exercise in order to appoint members of the All Progressives Congress to control them.

The party also alleged that the APC-led state government had a plan to starve the existing local councils control by the PDP of funds, adding that the creation of LCDAs would only cause unnecessary tension in the state.

According to Fadaka: “If they think they want to create LCDAs because those that currently control the local governments in the state today are members of the PDP, we must tell them that they are really preparing for a serious discord in our state.”
