The lawmaker representing Akoko Southeast/Southwest Federal Constituency of Ondo State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Ade Adeogun has presented a three-year scholarship to 200 Akoko students to study at Upland College of Education, Ipesi Akoko.
Adeogun, speaking during the presentation, which was held at the Oka Townhall on Friday, said the three years scholarship would lead to the award of National Certificate in Education (NCE).
The scholarship, the lawmaker said, would relief the parents of the students of the need to pay school fees for the three years duration.
Another set of 200 students were also awarded scholarship in various tertiary institutions in the country.
Adeogun also distributed notebooks and textbooks to all schools in the federal constituency.
Adeogun described the gesture as one of his numerous human capital development initiatives for his constituents, even as he also distributed computer sets to selected schools in the constituency.
Ondo State Governor, Arakuntin Rotimi Akeredolu, who was a guest at the event, commissioned Awolowo Road in Oba Akoko and Agba Bridge in Oka Akoko, built and facilitated by Adeogun.
The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Princess Oladunni Odu, described Ade Adeogun as a special brand, with the various initiatives and projects he has facilitated for his constituents.
Akeredolu appreciated the lawmaker for delivering the dividends of democracy to his people and adding value to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Olubaka of Oka Akoko, Oba Adeyori Adeleye, speaking at the event, said Adeogun is a representative like no other in the constituency.
Beneficiaries and community leaders appreciated Adeogun for having the people at heart at all times and alleviating their sufferings
