The Oloro of Oro Kingdom Oba AbdulRafiu Olaniyi Ajiboye has called for United and home based celebration of the Oro Day Carnival.
The Monarch made this call at the 11th Onita-Ajigba Annual Festival grand finale held on Saturday at Okerimi Oro, of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
“I want to commend each house hold for turning up as I seek a combine Oro Day Carnival like this here in our community.
“We have been doing Onita Ajigba Festival but am happy we brought it home,this is a test run next one will be better than this, if we have had this kind of programme,we would have gained a lot but it’s not too late as well,” he said.
Oba Ajiboye said the fund raised would be used for the development of the community.
Earlier the National Coordinator, Onita- Ajigba Festival Organizing Committee, Col. Felix Adeoye said the festival was deeply rooted in the firm belief in patience, package with social, cultural and educational events.
He commended the Pioneer Chairman planning committee Barrister Oyebanji whom he said planted and water the mustered seed of Onita Ajigba Festival.
Adeoye highlighted projects such as; event centre, renovation of dilapidated schools, street lights among other projects to use the raised funds for.
The guest speaker, Provost, Kwara State College of Education, Oro Dr Oloworejuaro Olayinka in his Speech titled “striving for survival in a depressed economy”, said it’s a known fact that everyone cannot be employed by government.
“We all need to work to survive yet millions of Nigerians are still job seekers,entrepreneurship education will no doubt stem the rising tide of youths unemployment and serve as catalyst in reducing various societal crimes and moral decadence towards achieving an egalitarian society,” he said.
Olayinka noted that Nigeria has enough plain ground for every business to thrive.
