Worried by the needless use of the social media as a platform to throw tantrums among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, the state Chairman of the party, Prince Gboyega Famodun, has warned against such development, saying that the party leadership will view failure to maintain peace within the party with an appropriate constitutional sanction.
Famodun in a statement issued by his Media Consultant, Kola Olabisi, in Osogbo said it was appalling, strange and unethical that some party leaders and members would decide to engage in the lowering of the prestige of the party through their unguarded utterances online which has been doing unimaginable damage to the fortune of the party.
He said it was a pity that some of the leaders and members of the party are bereft of when to talk and when not to talk, forgetting that meanings could be read to whatever they say as the response of their principals.
He said further that he was yet to come to terms with whoever invented the imaginary rift between former Governor Rauf Aregbesola and his successor, Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
The APC chairman hinted that if it was the wish of the opposition that these two illustrious leaders of APC should be at war, must whoever calls himself a worthy and bonafide member of the same APC be instrumemtal to underscoring and amplifying such?
He asked further: “Who even tells them that Aregbesola and Oyetola are at loggerheads? This rumour is only existing in the imagination of those spreading it for the only reason known to them which is mischievous.
“Assuming without conceding that there is a misunderstanding between the two eminent leaders of our party, should it be the duty of members of the same party to allow it to fester?
“Enough is enough. Some difficult members of the party should engage in how to further add value to our party instead of having it disintegrated through their unguarded utterances and less than dignifying conducts.
“What are we even saying? Have those who are spreading the unfounded rumour of leadership rift in the state APC forgotten that there are oppositional hawks waiting in the wing to launch an attack through the imaginary cracks they are creating?
Famodun cautioned that the APC leadership in the state would not hesitate to invoke some of the provisions of the party constitution to deal with any recalcitrant member of the party who engages continuously in needlessly disturbing the serene atmosphere of the APC in the state.
He disclosed that the content of what should be coming from those who are constitutionally allowed to speak for the continuity government of Governor Oyetola should be a compliment to his administration and not avoidable burden.
