Osun APC Members Protest Alleged Imposition of Candidate
Members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun state at the weekend staged a peaceful demonstration to protest against the alleged imposition of candidate for the House of Representatives seat of Ifelodun/Odo-Otin/Boripe federal constituency.
The APC members and non members of the party including artisans, commercial drivers and students in the area condemned the alleged imposition of Hon Yinka Ajayi, the current member of the House of Representatives representing the federal constituency on the party by the leadership of the party in the area.
The protesters who carried placards with various inscriptions called on the state Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola to prevent the leadership of the party from imposing any candidate on the party in the area.
Speaking on behalf of the protesters, a leader of the party in the area, Hon Abass Ganiyu alleged that the leaders of the party in the federal constituency have been bribed by Ajayi, hence their decision to ratify his candidature out of the six people vying for the post.
He said one of the aspirants; Mr Ayodele KJusamoti was denied theintention form of the party despite paying the #2milliion mandatory fee to the coffers of the party, describing the action of the party as bias and subjective.
Mr Ganiyu who addressed the protesters at the Ifelodun Local Government secretariat of the party along Iragbiji road, Ikirun said the party’s constitution and election guide lines should be followed strictly in the choice of the party’s candidate if peace must reign in the party.
He also called on the leadership of the party in the state to respect the existing zoning arrangement within the party, stressing that it was the turn of Ifelodun Local Government Area to produce the next House of Representatives member going by the zoning arrangement.

Why Nigerians Should Re-elect Jonathan- Group

A group championing the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, the P.National Grassroots Vanguard (PNGV) has said that the patience and tolerance of President Jonathan were enough factors to earn him a second term in office.
The National Co-ordinator of the group, Dr Kayode Oshiariyo who solicited for the support of all Nigerians for the re-election of President Jonathan maintained that Dr Jonathan deserves a second term in office, having served Nigeria with zeal and commitment.
Highlighting the achievements of President Jonathan which he said cut across all the sectors of the economy, Dr Oshiariyo said the President has performed creditably in all sectors of the economy since he assumed office.
Speaking during the inuaguration of the Osun state chapter of the group in Osogbo, Dr Oshiariyo said the achievements of Jonathan led administration cut across the transportation, agriculture and education sectors among others.
In his lecture at the ceremony, the Bursar, Wesley University of Technology, Ondo(WUSTO), Dr David Olopade stressed the need for rotational presidency in the country, saying, that would give equal opportunity to all Nigerians.
According to him “the North should allow the south to rule for another term of four years after which power will return to the north. The Position of the president is not the birth right of any geo-political zone in the country. It is the right of all Nigerians to contest for the position of the President.”
He called on all Nigerians to embark on intensive grassroots mobilization for Jonathan to win the 2015 presidential election.
He said President Jonathan has done more than any of his predecessor in office with the developments witnessed in the country under his administration.
Osun PDP Suspends Six Members for Anti-party Activities

Osun state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has suspended six of its members for alleged anti party activities arising from the just concluded conduct of the House of Assembly primaries in Ile Ife.
This is contained in a release issued and signed by the chairman of the Party in Osun state Alh Gani Olaoluwa shortly after the state working committee meeting of the Party in Osogbo yesterday.
According to the release the six members were suspended following recommendations from Ife central local government chapter of the the party and which was ratified by the state Working committee of the Party.
The release quoted section 58 (1) g and h of the PDP constitution which stipulates “that members should not engage in disorderly conduct at meetings or rallies, also they are not to engage in any conduct likely to disaffection among members of the Party”.
The statement added that “ after the outcome of the result 45,15,1,1 the suspended members took to acts of indiscipline which the PDP is not known for”.
The suspended members according to the statement are Mr Taiwo Adebusola aka Otte,Femi Oke aka Akilapa,Adewusi Adebimpe aka Iya Juwon,Bunmi Opabunmi,Dele Olowookere and Ayodeji Yussuf.
“They are to remain suspended untill the outcome of the disciplinarycommitee report”, the statement added.
