Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State has reaffirmed that the alliance between the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the state still remain intact.
Oyetola stated this on Wednesday when leaders of Osun SDP chapter visited him in his office in Osogbo, the state capital.
He called on SDP members to continue to support the policies of his government.
The governor who restated his total commitment to inclusive participatory governance, said that nobody has monopoly of wisdom.
He promised to be open to fresh ideas and constructive engagements that will be of immense benefit to the state having been elected to serve the people.
The spokesperson of the SDP delegation, a former Nigerian Ambassador to Philippines, Dr. Yemi Farounbi pledged the party’s total support for Oyetola led APC in the state.
Farounbi, who was a one-time Chairman of the Board of the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) expressed satisfaction of his party with the Oyetola administration’s performance and urged the governor not to relent.
It would be recalled that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the went into an alliance with the SDP ahead of the supplementary governorship election last September.
In another development, the Governor has described women as more consistent in politics than the men.
Oyetola, stated this when a group of female aspirant within the Osun APC visited him.
The Governor, who commended the group for staying together since 2015 when it was formed urged them to continue to put first the interest of the party.
He assured them that his administration would uphold party cohesion.
Coordinator of the group, Mrs. Taiwo Oluga, a member of the House of Representatives elect, commended the governor for his performance within a short time in officer, despite the obvious lean financial resources.
