The Osun State chapter of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), has berated Governor Gboyega Oyetola over dilapidated infrastructure, insecurity and the failure to conduct local government election in the state.
APM, in a statement signed by its Chairman, who also doubles as the Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in the state, Mr. Wale Adedayo, called on the governor to prioritise the issue of infrastructures, security and the conduct of local government election to bring development to the grassroots.
The party also frowned at the construction of a flyover at Olaiya area in Osogbo, the state capital, a development which it described as a white elephant project, adding that all the roads in the entire local government are in deplorable condition, thus begging for urgent attention.
The statement said the steps taken by APM calling the attention of the governor to the issues became imperative following recent happenings in the state.
It noted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has not conducted local government elections in the state since it took over power.
The statement stated that the1999 constitution did not give room for caretaker committees at the local government, adding that the sole administrator in each local government has no direct link to relate with the people, as they are merely appendages of the governor.
