Osun State House of Assembly, on Monday, started the screening process for Commissioner and Special Adviser designates.
Speaking during the plenary, the Speaker, Hon. Timothy Owoeye said the House will not shy away with its constitutional responsibilities.
Owoeye maintained that the lawmakers will be strict and thorough in the screening of the Commissioners and Special Advisers nominee.
According to the Speaker, the Assembly had resolved that the screening exercise will not be a “tea party” as members are in high spirit and ready to give in their best for the betterment of the state.
Responding to questions from the lawmakers during the screening, President, Nigeria Guild of Editors, Mrs Funke Adenike Egbemode promised to build a healthy relationship between the state government and the media if deployed to head the Ministry of Information and Strategy.
Other nominees screened included: the former Commissioner for Science, Technology and Innovations in the state, Mr Oluremi Omowaiye, Oladoyin Olayinka Folorunso, Ibitoye Felix Adeniran, Adebisi Obawale Simeon, Oladepo Solagbade Atanda, Ajisefini Abiodun, Ogunfolaju Christiana Olusola and Nathaniel Agunbiade.
It would be recalled that the governor of the state, Gboyega Oyetola had Tuesday sent 35 names of Commissioners and Special Advisers to the House of Assembly for screening.
