Osun House of Assembly on Thursday screened the nominees for the position of Osun Security Network and Amotekun Corps Commandant aa well as the Chairman, Governing Board of the Corps.
The State Governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola had forwarded the names of the nominees to the Assembly on Tuesday, for confirmation of appointments through a letter address to the Speaker of the House.
The governor asked for the confirmation of the appointments of Rtd. Brig-Gen. Isa Aderibigbe as the Chairman Governing Board, and Rtd. Brig-Gen. Bashir Adewinbi as the Corp Commandant of the state Security Network and Amotekun Corps.
The Speaker urged the duo to use the wealth of experience gathered during the time they were in the Nigerian Army to assist in getting rid of criminal activities from the State.
Speaking to journalists after the screening, Rtd. Brig-Gen. Bashir Adewinbi said he was happy to be recognised and called to serve his state by the governor.
Adewinbi said when he is confirmed, he would lias with traditional rulers, local government managers, local hunters.
He said those that would be members of the Amotekun corps under his command would be well discipline and be trained to gather adequate intelligence to assist the police and other security agencies.
Also speaking to newsmen after his screening, Rt. Brig-Gen. Isa Aderibigbe said he would bring his 33 years military experience to shape and drive the state security outfit.
