Two persons have been confirmed dead in a fatal accident along Ilesa/Ife expressway in Osun State.
One of the victims, Mr Sunday Alakinde, was a freelance broadcaster with Unique FM, a private radio station in Ilesa.
The other victim, it was gathered, was a male media apprentice, who boarded a saloon car that was driven by Alakinde.
It was gathered that the crash occurred around 3:05 am on Monday while Alakinde was returning to the station for his daily popular radio programme “Ojutole”.
The two were said to have died on the spot, while the third person was said to have sustained severe injuries.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in the state, Mrs Agnes Ogungbemi, said the crash happened around Rock Villa Hotel, Opposite Old Sazo Oil, Ilesa.
She said the accident involved a blue-colored saloon car with registration number SMK 312 GQ and a white coloured luxury bus with number plate LND 322 XY.
Ogungbemi gave the name of the luxury bus driver as Hueffa, adding that the injured victim was rushed to Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa, while the remains of the deceased were deposited at the morgue of the same hospital.
