Former Osun State Governor and Interim Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande, has met with Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and his predecessor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who is at present the Minister of Interior.
The meeting held in Ila-Orangun hometown of the former Osun governor.
Akande popularly called Baba awon omo kekeke had been talking privately with both Oyetola and Aregbesola over the crisis of confidence rocking the two, which has spread to the local councils in the state and the house of assembly.
The crisis has seen supporters of the two camps engage in war songs and even skirmishes.
At state functions, supporters of Oyetola hoist the Ileri -Oluwa flag and sing praises of the governor while supporters of the former governor hoist the flag of Oranmiyan and sing his praises.
Sources said Akande met with the governor and the former governor for up to four hours. At a point, former Secretary to Osun State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, who was said to be visiting Baba Akande at the time was invited to join the closed doors meeting.
Adeoti who had earlier left the APC for the Alliance Democratic Party in the build up to the 2018 governorship election in Osun is being wooed back to APC by the camps of Aregbesola and Oyetola.
Akande’s intervention is to engender peace and harmony between Oyetola and Aregbesola and their supporters but the outcome of the meeting was unknown at press time.
