Following the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Osun state Government has directed all schools (Private and Public) to proceed on Christmas and New year break today, December 18,2020.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Coordinating Director, Ministry of Education in the state, C.K Olaniyan.
Western Post recalls that schools in the state resumed for the 2020/2021 Academic Session first term on the 9th November and expected to go for the Christmas and New Year break on 24th December.
Olaniyan said the schools’ closure was to ensure safety of pupils and students.
The statement reads, “The government places a high premium on the safety of our citizens generally and students in particular hence this proactive preventive measure.
“Resumption date will be communicated as soon as it’s safe to resume in the new year.
“The Ministry of Education wishes all stakeholders in the education sector a merry Christmas and a safe new year.”
