Osun State Government has sealed off about 23 substandard private schools across the state.
According to the government, the move was part of its continued effort at sanitising the education sector in the State.
This was just as the State Government said it will not relent in its efforts to give quality education to the students, who are the future of the state.
The Commissioner for Education, Hon. Folorunso Oladoyin who supervised the closure of the schools maintained that the Gboyega Oyetola led administration in the State will ensure that the students always get the best education.
While warning that the “Olubewo” of the Ministry of Education will continue to keep its eyes wide open to fish out more mushroom and substandard private schools, Oladoyin stated that the Government is determined to produce critical thinkers who can be globally competitive.
He, therefore, advised private schools that are not properly registered with the state’s Ministry of Education to do so as soon as possible. stressing that the government would not condone any act that can sabotage its resolve to give Osun students the best.
Some of the schools which were sealed for various offences such as dirty teaching environment, unqualified teachers, non-renewal of licenses and operating without licence include, Hephzibah Kiddies, Ejigbo, Najeemdeen Model Schools, Ejigbo, Favour of God Secondary School, Okinni, Omolara Nursery And Primary School, Iwo among others.
