Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security in Osun State, Hon Adedayo Adewole has appealed to Farm Settlers in the state to release unused parts of the land earlier allocated to them by the Government, especially the marshy area to enable the government re-allocate it to other settlers and youths so as to pave way for massive and aggressive Agriculture business.
Adedayo made the appeal at a meeting with the Presidents of Supreme Council of each Farm Settlement (COSFASAS) and Farm Settlement Officers, held at the Conference Hall of the Ministry in Abere, Osun state.
The Commissioner stressed the need to encourage youths in farming business by providing land to cultivate farm produce so that food would be in abundance in the state.

He stated further that security of lives and properties is very paramount to the government, adding that resolving security challenges is the collective responsibility of both the government and the people as the government alone cannot do it.
One of the farmers representing Ila Farm Settlement, Chief Elemona Razaki Adedayo commended the Commissioner and Special Adviser describing them as round pegs in round holes.
He then solicited for government assistance in the area of marketing of farm produce after harvest and that there should be a fixed price for farm produce in the state.
Similarly, the Former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties, who represented Esa-Oke Farm Settlement, Mr. Adewumi Adelowo also sought for government support in the area of good accessible road to their farm settlement, soil test and provision of market for farm produce.
