…Regularizes the Appointment of Civil Servants Deployed to Teaching in Secondary Schools

Osun State Government has approved the recruitment of 2,500 teachers into public schools in the state.
Commissioner for Education in the state, Mr. Folorunso Oladoyin who disclosed this in Osogbo said 1,500 teachers will be recruited into the secondary schools, while 1,000 teachers will be recruited into the elementary schools.
The Commissioner explained that the recruitment will be strictly based on merit as they will be subjected to rigorous examination to ensure that the best among them eventually emerge.
Oladoyin also disclosed that there would be upgrading of some teachers whose qualifications are higher than the classes they teach and also the abolition of mass promotion.
While noting that the teacher’s welfare is paramount to Governor Gboyega Oyetola administration, he said the government is ready to organise training and re-training of teachers and also professionalizing the teaching profession.
Meanwhile, governor Oyetola has approved the regularization of the appointment of civil servants on grade level One, Two and Three who were deployed to teach in Secondary Schools.
This was contained in a statement jointly released by the Honourable Commissioner for Education and Special Adviser On Education, Mr. Folorunso Oladoyin and Mr. Jamiu Olawumi.
The statement noted that the newly regularised officers will enjoy all rights and privileges attached to their new grade levels.
The new teachers are advised to be motivated by the kind gesture of the Governor and teach conscientiously the students in their care.
The statement also commended the office of the Head of Service for ensuring the proper records of establishment on the affected workers who are now happy teachers in schools.
