Osun Govt Trains 1,620 Teachers Ahead Schools’ Resumption

    As part of preparatory guidelines for the reopening of schools in Osun State, the government has trained a total of 1,620 teachers in the State on the effective discharge of their duties when schools are finally reopened.

    The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Hon. Israel Famurewa, at the two-day virtual training programme, which was organized for Heads of Primary and Junior Secondary Schools across the State, in collaboration with Destiny Development Initiative, said the Adegboya Oyetola led State Government is passionate about the provision of standard and qualitative education delivery system for Osun school children life development.

    Famurewa, who expressed satisfaction with the training programme, stated that it would go a long way to keep teachers abreast of the global transformational teaching techniques in a Post COVID-19 era.

    He urged the participants to reproduce the knowledge derived from the training at their various places of primary assignment, in order to move education in the State to a greater height.

    In his welcome address, the Executive Secretary of the board, Mr. Adeoye Bakare thanked DDI Consult and the education major stakeholders, thanked Destiny Development Initiative and the education stakeholders,  then advised teachers to be alive to their duties and to complement government’s huge investment in the education sector by following the best practices in the post COVID-19 education management.

    Bakare charged the participants to make judicious use of knowledge acquired through the training exercise to better their teaching techniques so as to enhance effective teaching and learning for the benefit of Osun school children as they are the future leaders.

    Highlights of the training exercise were delivery of lectures via the VIRTUAL online by competent resource persons home and abroad, questions and answers session.
