Osun Govt Warns Against Quackery In Veterinary Business

By Deborah Oladejo, Osogbo

Osun State government has warned against quackery practice especially among private veterinary clinics in the state.

Director of Veterinary Services,  Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security in the state, Dr (Mrs) Abosede Olatokun stated this in her office in Osogbo.

Olatokun pointed out that the state House of Assembly had in August, 2021, passed a bill on Osun State Private Veterinary and Ambulatory Practice (Registration) into law.

This law, she said, will boost animal productions and checkmate quacks in the veterinary profession as well as create enabling environment for veterinary doctors in the state.

Olatokun, however, advised members of the public to desist from the habit of patronizing fake veterinary doctors.

According to her, the habit is risky to the life of pets and other domestic animals.

She added that anyone found guilty of the offense of illegal practice shall be made to face the full wrath of the law.
