Traditional rulers in Ifelodun Federal Constituency of Osun State have promised to mobilise their subjects massively for the re-election of Governor Gboyega Oyetola in the July 16, 2022 governorship election in the state.
They made the promise on Tuesday when the governor visited them during his familiarisation cum strategic engagement to their constituency.
The monarchs; the Olokuku of Okuku, Oba Samuel Abioye Oyebode Oluronke, Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, the Elende of Eko-Ende, Oba Olaniyan Abdul-Rauf and other monarchs prayed for the governor that his intention to run for second term will come to pass.
Speaking in his palace, the Olokuku said that the quest to re-elect Oyetola for second term must not be an option but a necessity in view of the tremendous achievements he has made in the last three years.
Oba Oluronke, who is the Chairman, Odo-Otin Council of Traditional Rulers noted that the governor has paid his dues to be returned for second term.
He noted that royal fathers across the towns and villages would deploy all within their powers to back him towards the actualisation of his ambition.
Also speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers in Ifelodun Local Government, the Elende of Eko-Ende, reaffirmed their loyalty and solidarity to the governor.
He said the traditional rulers in the Council have taken a position to work collectively in order to ensure the return of the governor who he said had performed creditably well.
In his remarks, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, said the re-election of Oyetola has been sealed saying that the people of Boripe Local Government have begun door-to-door campaign for the governor prior to his official visit to the palace, adding that no stone would be left unturned to ensure his return.
Addressing the people at the palaces of the monarchs and venues of the programme where his admirers and supporters were already assembled, the governor expressed gratitude to the people of the state, particularly leaders and members of his party, for their continued love and prayers, saying their support has been the motivation and encouragement for him to continue to do great.
Oyetola, who lauded the traditional rulers and high chiefs whose warmth reception since the beginning of his tour across the local government areas in the state has been unprecedented, said that their actions were indications of the level of his acceptance.
He called on the people of the state, particularly the party leaders and members, to remain steadfast and focused as the governorship primary approaches.
