In their separate reactions, they expressed optimism that the PDP will still win at the Appeal Court.
Speaking with news men in Ede, the elder sister of the declared winner of the election, Mrs Modupe Adeleke, described the victory as resurrection of late Isiaka Adeleke.
She expressed happiness with the support of the people of the town, urging them not to relent in their support for Adeleke’s family.
Reacting to the decision of All Progressives Congress (APC), to challenge the judgement, she expressed optimism in the victory of her brother and his party, PDP, at the appeal court.
She said her late brother, Isiaka, would be happy in heaven with the judgment.
Also, the party expressed delight at the victory of the party and its governorship candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
The party’s Chairman, Soji Adagunodo, in a statement, said the victory was an act of God. He said that he knew from the outset of the party’s struggle for the mandate that God Almighty would do justice and had done it.
He dedicated the victory to God Almighty and the people of the state, saying, “I thank God Almighty for the victory and we dedicate it to Him. It is a victory for the people of the state. It is a victory for all.”
Adagunodo who commended the judiciary for “Standing by the truth, also lauded the people of the state for their faith in the PDP and Senator Adeleke.
“The judgement shows that the people in the judiciary are calibres of people of impeccable character. They are the last hope of the common man and have proved themselves as such. I give kudos to the judiciary.”
He said the party was ready for the appeal, saying, “It’s normal. If they decide to appeal the case, we are ready. We are testing the Nigerian judiciary and we are testing the Nigerian democracy.”
Similarly, a chieftain of the party, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi has applauded the Osun State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja for restoring the party’s mandate in the State.
In a statement by his Press Secretary, Ismail Afolabi, Friday, Ogunbiyi stated that the two-to-one split decision by a three-man panel of the Tribunal which handed victory to the PDP and her candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke in the September 22, 2018 governorship election was a confirmation that the truth cannot be hidden for life.
He stressed that the judiciary has again upheld and deepened democratic tenets by voiding controversial declaration of Mr Gboyega Oyetola as Governor of the State.
He, afterwards, congratulated the entire PDP family and the good people of the state on the landmark victory.
