An undisclosed amount of money was carted away as some suspected hoodlums in the early hours of Thursday burgled six offices in Osun State High Court complex, Osogbo.
Sources told WESTERN POST that suspected burglars, apart from the cashier’s office, also attacked maintenance section and four other offices located within administrative building of the court complex.
Though the sources in the judiciary confirmed that some amount of money was stolen during the incident, they could not however say whether documents were also lost to the burglars.
It was also confirmed to newsmen that all night guards that were on duty when the incident happened had been apprehended by the police.
A very reliable source, told our correspondent that a similar incident of burglary happened in an Ilesa High Court, adding that the perpetrators were later apprehended.
“We believe those involved in this act will be apprehended also. But I can assure you nothing apart from money was lost during the incident,” he said
When contacted, the acting Police Public Relations Officer of Osun Command of the Nigeria Police Force, ASP Egbedele Ajibade, confirmed that some people had been apprehended in connection with the incident.
He added those arrested have been referred to the State CID for further actions.
Efforts to reach the Information Officer, Osun State High Court, Yinka Adeleke, proved futile as several calls put to his mobile phones were not answered.
