The Special Adviser to Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Youth and Sports, Mr Adegboyega Aremo has charged media practitioners in the state on the need to pay attention to their health through regular medical assessment, physical exercise and intake of balanced diets.
Addressing members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council after the Health Walk to mark the 2021 NUJ Press Week, Aremo, who is one of the sponsors of the Health Walk emphasised the significance of regular exercise saying that everyone should at least  walk 30 minutes  on a daily basis.
“As a matter of fact, media play critical roles in nation building. So, there is need for people in the society to always give kudos to the media practitioners because they play germane roles in nation building.
“We as politicians, we both partner in the development of the country.
“However, I want to charge the pen pushers on the need to always pay special attention to their health through regular medical assessment, exercise and intake of balanced diets to enhance their physical and mental well-being.”
Another sponsor of the Health Walk, who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the state, Mr David Ayodele Asalu, charged journalists to maintain high level of professionalism while covering political activities.
Asalu, who was represented by his manager, Mr Aderinola Debo, admonished journalists to carry out their jobs in accordance with the ethics of the profession.
Speaking, the NUJ  Chairman, Comrade Wasiu Ajadosu appreciated the sponsors for counting them worthy to be part of the health walk.
Members of NUJ led by Ajadosu, had earlier converged on the press centre before proceeding to Oke-Fia, Olaiya and later terminated the health walk at the council.
