A 20-year-old Joy Michael has been arraigned before an Osun State Magistrate Court sitting in Ile-Ife for allegedly stealing from her boss.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Emmanuel Abdullahi, told the court that Joy, an attendant at TJ Guest House, Kosere area of Ile-Ife, stole the sum of N71,000 from the director of the guest house.
Abdullahi further said that Joy committed the offence on November 23, 2020 around 09:00am at TJ Guest House.
The Prosecutor added that the defendant conducted herself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by stealing the sum of N71,000 without the knowledge of the manager.
He stated that the offence contravened sections 249(d) and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The Defence Counsel, Mr Okoh Wonder, however, pleaded for the bail of the defendant in most liberal term promising that his client would provide reliable sureties.
Magistrate Bose Idowu granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Idowu added that the sureties must swear to affidavit of means, resides within the court jurisdiction, address to be verified by the prosecutor as well as provide three recent passport photographs each.
The case was thereby adjourned till January 15, 2021 for mention.
