Osun State Police has dragged two persons before a Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo for alleged stealing of two motorcycles.
The accused, Tajudeen Kareem(34) and Adamoh Raji (35) were said to have committed the offense on the 24th of May, 2019 at Fiwasaye area of Osogbo and Orisunbare Street of Oke Baale, Osogbo respectively.
They were alleged to have stolen the motorcycles, Jincheng belonging to one Barr. Mustapha Adewole and Suzuki belonging to one Salawu Kamarudeen respectively.
According to the prosecutor, ASP. Fagboyinbo Abiodun, they committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 509 of the criminal code Cap 34 Vol 11 and section 390 of the criminal code Cap 34, Vol 11 Laws of Osun state Nigeria 2002.
The accused were arraigned on a two count charge respectively and they both pleaded not guilty.
Counsel to the accused persons, Barr. Nurudeen Kareem prayed the court to grant his clients bail at the most liberal terms sighting section 36(5) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that presumes the accused to be innocent until proven otherwise by the honourable court of law.
The presiding Magistrate, Chief Magistrate Risikat A. Olayemi granted the accused bail since the prosecution didn’t object to it and the offences committed are bailable.
She granted bail in the sum of N30, 000.00 each with like sum and a surety which must be a blood relation.
The case was then adjourned till 22nd of August 2019 for hearing.
