Former Deputy Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Chief Francis Fadahunsi, and the Chairman of Regent Group of Companies, Dr. Daisi Aina, on Sunday emerged Senatorial candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Osun State.

Fadahunsi emerged PDP candidate for Osun East, while Aina won PDP ticket to contest the seat of Osun central in next year’s poll.

Former Minister of Youth Affairs, Senator Akinlabi Olasunkanmi, had earlier been unanimously adopted as PDP candidate for Osun West Senatorial District.

However, at the primary election held yesterday, Fadahunsi defeated former National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) boss, Chief (Mrs.) Remi Olowu, by 265 votes to 116 to clinch the PDP ticket for Osun East.

According to the result of PDP senatorial primaries for Osun Central held at Charity Hotel, Osogbo, Aina, an Abuja-based businessman, who hails from Iresi, where President Jonathan observed his one-year mandatory National Youth Service Corps, defeated Chief Kunle Alao to pick the ticket for Osun Central district.

Speaking shortly after being declared winner of the primary election, Fadahunsi commended the leadership of the party for providing a level playing ground for all aspirants, adding that his emergence through a democratic process showed the readiness of PDP to excel in 2015 poll.

He called for more dedication by the party members and assured of his preparedness to provide quality representation, if elected senator.
