A 22-year-old bricklayer, Ayomide Akande and one Abdullahi (23) have been arrested for stealing a generator valued at over N250,000.
It was gathered that Akande, who came from Ijebu-Ode, was invited to work at the back of Galaxy Hotel located at Ring road, Osogbo.
While working, he saw the generator of one of the neighbour’s living in the area and stole it.
Akande was said to have sold it for N5,000 to Abdullahi, an Hausa man who resides at BCGA area, Ajegunle, Osogbo.
The owner of the generator who was identified as Miss Henriye Oluwafunmilola, a student of the Osun State University, Osogbo Campus later discovered that her generator was missing.
She informed her neighbours and they went to Akande, who denied stealing the generator.
Members of the Amotekun Corps were then invited to unccover the circumstances surrounding the missing generator,.
After much interrogation, Akande confessed to the crime and took the Amotekun personnel to Abdullahi and the generator was recovered inside a dilapidated building where it was hidden.
The duo were handed over to the Director of State Services (DSS) for further investigation and prosecution.
