Osun West: Battleline Drawn as NWC Clears Hussein for Senate

The battleline may have been drawn even in the All Progressives Congress for the candidature of the party for forthcoming election to fill the seat left behind by late Senator Isiaka Adeleke.

A panel sent to Osun by the APC leadership in Abuja had cleared Senator Adeleke’s younger brother, Ademola, and disqualified former Senator Mudasiru Hussein backed by Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

But on Monday, the party’s National Working Committee cleared Senator Hussein to contest the party’s primaries for the district holding tomorrow, Tuesday June 13, 2017.

A statement by the party’s Director of Publicity in Osun, Barrister Kunle Oyatomi, said this is the outcome of the meeting of the NWC in Abuja which reviewed the decision of the Appeal panel, which had earlier dismissed the appeal filed by Senator Hussain on Sunday.

Oyatomi said: “By the regulation of the party, the decision of the NWC of the party is final.

“Therefore, delegates for the APC West senatorial district primaries are to proceed to the designated centre for the exercise on Tuesday”.
