Oyetola Orders Councils to Send List of Roads For Repairs in Osun

Osun State Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola has directed all the local government council in the state to forward the list of critical roads that needed urgent repair work in their councils.

Oyetola gave the order in a remark during the meeting with the leadership of the Local Government Councils and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) on Wednesday.
The governor said his administration would also work together with the chairmen across the 68 Councils and LCDAs to bring development to the grassroots.
The meeting was called at the instance of the Supervisor of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr, Adejare Adebisi.
Oyetola stressed that his administration remained committed to making life more abundant, meaningful and worthwhile for all regardless of socio-economic status.
He assured the local government leadership that the councils would be funded by his administration to ensure the spread of development across the state.
He then appealed to them to key into the policies and programmes of his administration as well as reflect it in their conduct and activities.
He said projects recommended by the councils would be supervised by the state government to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
The Governor explained that the decision was to extend the dividends of democracy to the grassroots as part of his administration cardinal points to bring succour to all particularly people at the localities.
Oyetola however urged Council Chairmen to ensure all round victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in next years’s generasl election saying the decision remained the only way to sustain progressive people in government at the state and national levels.
“As you know, a government is not totally formed without legislature, thus it has become a task on everyone of us to work very hard towards ensuring victory for all our candidates in the next general elections”, he said.
