In continuation of his familiarisation tour to some marketplaces in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, former governor of the state and Labour Party governorship candidate, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, has promised the people social amenities in all market centres across the state .

Akala disclosed this on Wednesday, during a visit to Oranyan, Araromi Gate and Bodija markets. He promised that the market centres in the state particularly Bodija market would be redesigned to the level of an international standard, if elected as the state governor next month.

Otunba Alao Akala while speaking at the Araromi market said the atmosphere of the market needed to be reorganised to make it more conducive for the people, who patronised it on a daily basis.

He described it as an international market where people from Maiduguri, Calabar and other parts of the country patronise.

“The reception I received here and at Araromi Market, has shown that you are ready for me to come back and there is assurance that the Labour Party will rule Oyo State in 2015 because people are tired of the present administration in the state,” saying the elite were only 20 per cent in the state, while the others would vote him in because he knew how to convince the elite through social media.

“Why I’m here is to let you know that I’m no longer in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but now contesting on the Labour Party, which is the party of the masses, who has the interest of the people.”

Meanwhile, the Baale Oni Pako, Chief Ezekiel Agboola, said that they are ready to vote massively for Akala because of his interest in Bodija Market, while he was in government.

Earlier in his speech, the chairman, Oyo State Labour Party, Mr Gbenga Olayemi, said the right man to lead Oyo State is Alao-Akala with his running mate, Chief Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli.
