Oyo APC May Appeal Against Tribunal Judgement on Gov Election

By Richard Thomas, Ibadan

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has vowed to appeal the tribunal judgment delivered against Chief Bayo Adelabu on the March 9, governorship election.

The leading party also said it received the judgment of the Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal sitting in the state with dismay.

The three-member tribunal led by Justice Muhammed Sirajo had in their unanimous judgment dismissed the petition filed by Chief Adelabu of the APC candidate in the governorship election for lack of merit.

He had dragged Gov. Seyi Makinde, who is the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the election, before the tribunal to challenge his victory at the poll.

The party in a press statement signed by its publicity secretary AbdulAzeez Olatunde said  “The State Working Committee of the Party in its Proactive manner has decided to refer the Tribunal Ruling to our team of Legal Experts for the necessary recommendation which the Party hopes to follow appropriately.

“It thanked members of the party for being law-abiding and assured them and their sympathizers to wait for the next line of action, in due course.

WESTERN POST from an impeccable source said the party is not satisfied with the tribunal judgment and may appeal against the judgement in days to come.
