The Oyo State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of newly nominated Commissioner, Alh Lawal Ismail Ayansiju.
Lawal whose name was recently sent to the State lawmakers for screening by Governor Seyi Makinde, was confirmed on Monday as commissioner designate during the plenary.
It will be recalled that the appointment of a cabinet member, former Commissioner in the Ministry of Works, Transport and Infrastructure, Prof Raphael Afonja was terminated by the State Government on August 10, 2020.
The Governor said the appointment was to fill the vacuum created in the Ministry since the termination of the appointment of the Prof Raphael Afonja.
Answering questions during the screening exercise, the astute administrator assured the lawmakers that he would work hard to justify his appointment, adding that the governor wants him to assist the state to eldorado.
“My appointment as commissioner is going to be a complete service delivery, I am going to perform and deliver to the expectations of government and people of the state.”
Ayansiju during the sitting enjoyed full support of the lawmakers who described him as a man of honour who has the strength and ability to achieve great development.
Lawal Ayansiju is an experienced and retired public servant, who has worked across many local governments in the State, and ready to deploy his over 30years of administrative experience into improving lives in Oyo State.
