The Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Mohammed Fadeyi has admonished members of the 9th Assembly to intensify efforts at fast-tracking more development into the state through the quality legislative drive.
The Deputy Speaker gave the admonition on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Assembly which had the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and other top dignitaries in attendance.
According to him, the 9th Assembly irrespective of party differences had continued to work together for the progress of the state and the people, hence, reason they must intensify efforts at bringing more development into the state.
He observed that despite the COVID-19 pandemic rocking the state and the entire world, members have continued to work hard on the progress of the state, adding that they also gave out palliatives to their constituency members as relief measures.
While urging members of the Assembly to continue to work hard to achieve more success, Hon. Fadeyi said there is need for them to look into measures that will advance the course of the people and the state.
“We bless the name of God for the achievements and success of the 9th Assembly, especially in the first year anniversary. Though, It has not been easy, God has been faithful to us.
“We equally thank members of our constituencies for their patience and cooperation. We will continue to work on measures that will improve and advance their course.”
Speaking on his achievements and contributions in the Parliament, the Deputy Speaker, said he had moved five motions which include motion on the “Need to tighten security against further incursion by Killers herdsmen, “Matter on urgent public importance on the need to address persistent flooding incidents across the state which had brought hardship to residents in the state, “A clarion call for the accreditation of courses all across the tertiary institutions in the state and many others.
Also on Bills sponsored, “Oyo state Tourism and Hospitality Bill, “Oyo State Open Rearing and Anti Grazing Bill and “Oyo State Open Defecation Bill based on the executive Order given by the president to put an end to open defecation by the year 2025.
Hon. Fadeyi who assured the people of Ona Ara state constituency of meaningful representation in his administration appealed to them to continue to support governor Seyi Makinde in other for him to move the state forward.
