Oyo Assembly Passes Investment Promotion Agency Bill into Law

Oyo state House of Assembly has passed into law the state Investment Promotion Agency Bill 2019.

The Bill was passed into law after the Chairman House Committee on Investment and Economic Planning, Hon. Francis Adewale, presented his report.

The House also observed the First Reading of Oyo State Local Government Amendment Bill 2019, Oyo State Legislature Financial and Management Bill, 2019 and Control of Commercial Motorcycles (Further Amendment) Bill, 2019.

In his remark, Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin said the Bill would facilitate foreign investors into the state.

The House also directed the ministry of environment and ministry of lands, housing and urban development to as matter of urgency look into flooding issues across the state and find a lasting solution to it.

This came to fore following reports of Odegbese River in Ona-Ara Local government area claimed to have washed away 5 people due to over flow of rivers in the area.

The mover of the motion, Hon. Mohammed Fadeyi, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly in a matter of urgent public importance,  said  properties worth millions of naira were destroyed in the downpour experienced recently in the state.

The speaker, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, backing  the motion, asked ministries concerned to move into action.
