Oyo Assembly Passes 2022 Appropriation Bill Into Law

The Oyo State House of Assembly has passed the state’s Appropriation and Finance Bills, 2022 into law.

The 2022 budget, passed by the House during the Assembly’s  plenary presided over by the Speaker, Adebo Ogundoyin on Tuesday is to the tune of N294.7billion,

A sum of N139.5billion is approved as recurrent expenditure, while N155billion, is approved as capital expenditure

The House had earlier accepted the reports of its Committee on Public Account, Finance and Appropriation read by its Chairman, Hon Hakeem Mustapha after their clause by clause considerations.

Governor Seyi Makinde on September 29, 2021 presented N294.52 billion as proposed budget for 2022 before the Assembly.

Ogundoyin said the House will do everything in its constitutional power to monitor the implementation of the 2022 budget.

The Speaker expressed optimism that the budget tagged “Budget of Growth and Opportunities” will bring about the much desired growth and development in the state.
