Both Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan and Crown FC of Ogbomoso will lack nothing in motivation as the Oyo State government has promised the two sides good welfare packages.
Commissioner for Youth and Sports in the state, Alhaji Umar Farouq Alao, who disclosed this hinted that the government would not in any way deny the teams all the necessary support they needed before and during the 2013/14 season.
Crown FC will compete in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) billed to kick off on February 25 while 3SC will battle for promotion ticket from the Nigeria National League (NNL) earlier scheduled to start this weekend but has been pushed forward till February 15.
The commissioner, who gave this assurance when he paid an unscheduled visit to Ijebu-Ode where both teams are perfecting their strategies ahead of the incoming season, expressed satisfaction with the work being done by the coaches of the teams as well as the positive response of the players to training.
‘’We will do everything to encourage you in terms of your welfare while we expect you to give your best when it matters,’’ Alao, who gave the two sides an undisclosed sum of money during the parley, said.
