The Deputy Speaker, Oyo State House Of Assembly, Hon. Abiodun Fadeyi has commiserated with traders at the Akesan Market in Oyo over the fire incident that gutted the market.
He described the development as unfortunate.
The fire incident according to sources started at the early hours of Sunday and destroyed goods worth millions of naira.
The Deputy Speaker while describing the ugly incidence as a great loss to the people especially those affected by the inferno prayed God not to allow such occurrence to happen again in the area.
Hon Fadeyi assured them that government of the state would take proactive measures to address the issue
Hon Fadeyi who represents Ona Ara State Constituency in the Assembly urged the state government to equip all fire service stations in the state so as to avert future occurrence.
According to him, the recent experience has exposed the incapability of the fire service.
The Deputy Speaker in a statement said “it is tragic that the traditional market Akesan has been consumed by fire. He prays God will console those who lost their properties in the inferno.”
