Oyo FRSC Boss Cautions Motorists Against Dangerous Overloading

The Oyo State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Uche Winifred Chukwurah has cautioned motorists against dangerous overloading and as well obey traffic rules in order to reduce road crashes and avoid unnecessary accidents on our roads.

The Corps Commander gave the admonition while speaking on the measures put in place by the command to drastically reduce accidents and road crashes in the state.

Chukwurah said since her assumption as corps commander in the state, the command has intensified efforts on public enlightenment at churches, mosques, market places and parks on the need for motorists to decease from overloading and obey traffic rules while on wheels to avoid an accident.

She said: “I have put on ground 24/7 rescue team in all the command in the state.  Also, I have gone ahead to publicise our emergency number that will respond timely to accident victims on 122  and people have been receiving responses on their calls.”

The sector commander said the command had established collaboration with other sister agencies to ensure crashes are brought to a minimal level in the state.

According to her, road crashes have reduced drastically since she took over in the state when compared to what the command had in the past.

“There have been drastic improvements in traffic in the state since I  assumed duty.

“What we also do now is to enlightened people on the need to obey the NCDC laws concerning the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure they comply with social distancing order.

“On this, the FRSC is not relenting, we have continued to ensure people comply with the directives to reduce accidents on our roads.
