…as group sponsors exercise with N8m donation

The Oyo State Government is set to commence free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) extramural classes for secondary school students in government-owned schools across the state beginning from 31st of January, 2020.
The state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Dahud Shangodoyin made this known on Monday during the presentation of #8 million by the Oyo Ile Investors Forum for sponsorship of the coaching classes
Sangodoyin, stated that despite the constraints imposed by the limited resources of the State, the current administration has been able to sponsor intervention classes for SS3 students in the state with provision of compendium of past questions in 11 subject areas.
He said, “Despite the constraints imposed by the limits of government resources, the government of Engr. Seyi Makinde is determined to forge ahead for the benefit of the masses and looks to the private sector and well-meaning individuals for partnership to implement its laudable programs for the state
“Oyo Ile Investors Forum is responding to the government call today with the donation of N8million for the sponsorship of JAMB coaching classes for Oyo State students to improve the rate at which they secure admission into higher institutions of learning.”
While appreciating the Investors for their kind gesture, the Commissioner noted that the free Jamb Coaching classes of the Seyi Makinde- led administration is also a way of promoting the development of quality human capital resources for the pacesetter state.
He hinted that government has taken delivery of 300 copies of the compendium of past JAMB questions and has been distributed to all the designated coaching centers in the State.
In her address, the leader of the Oyo Ile Investment Forum, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Saani explained that donation was in response to the State government call for sponsors to improve the rate at which students of the state public schools secure admission into the higher institution of learning.
Sanni, who is the CEO, Emerging Africa Group said the forum was out to actively support the initiatives of the government in key areas such as Education, Security, Agriculture, and the Economy
She added that the Oyo Ile Investors Forum is also actively engaged in investor drive and poverty alleviation programs among others that will be of immense benefit to citizens of the State.
