Oyo State government on Tuesday, suspended a secondary school student in the state, Ojo Roqeeb, over assault on a Corps member.

Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Rahman Abiodun Abdu-Raheem who frowned at a reported case of the SSS 2 student of Anglican Commercial Secondary School, Orita-Mefa Ibadan, who slapped the Corps member, ordered his immediate suspension for one month.

The commissioner, who visited the school also ordered that a letter of suspension be given to his parents, saying the student, on return will have to apologize to the Corps member and sign an undertaking.

While addressing the students of the school, the commissioner charged them to be of good behaviour, reiterating that the state government will not condone any act of indiscipline.

He warned that any student caught acting in an uncivilized manner, will henceforth be dismissed from schools in the state.
