By Adeola Oladele, Ibadan

The Oyo State House of Assembly lost one of its lawmakers today. He is Hon. Femi Adelakun, representing Afijio State Constituency.

As at the time of filing this report, the cause of his death had not been officially disclosed.

In a telephone interview with WESTERN POST, one of the lawmakers representing Iwajowa State Constituency in the Assembly, Hon. Adeniyi Farinto described the death of Adelakun as sudden and unexpected.

He said the news of his death got to him as a rude shock, adding that the vacuum his death created would be difficult to fill, praying God to give the entire lawmakers and the family he left behind the fortitude to bear the loss.

He, similarly, commiserated with the Speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Monsurat Sunmonu over the death, charging her to take solace in the fact that the late lawmaker left a solid footprint on the sand of time and for the coming generation to take a cue from.

Until his death, Hon Adelakun was the House Committee Chairman on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters. He is survived by a wife and children.
