The Oyo state House of Assembly, on Tuesday, observed third reading of Local Government (Amendment) Bill, 2019.
The amendment Bill was passed into law following the presentation of report of the chairman, House committee on Local Government and chieftaincy matters, Hon. Olusola Popoola, representing Ibadan South East 2 constituency.
After clause by clause consideration of the Bill by the Assembly, the speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, passed it into law.
Also, the House has summoned the commissioner for Health, Dr Bashil Abiodun Bello and the Executive Secretary, primary Health centres in the state to appear before the house.
They are to appear before the House in October, 24 to brief the House on state if the Health care centres in the state.
Presiding over the deliberations, the Speaker, Hon. Ogundoyin, said that the Oyo state House of Assembly will commence a massive oversight function on all primarily health care centers across the state and restore sanity to the health sector.
In the same vein, the House deliberated on the recent influx of commercial taxies, tricycle and motor cycles and the associated dangers it portends and called on relevant traffic management agencies to apply the rules and ensure safe and free flow of traffic on the state roads.
