The new executive members of Oyo State Chapter of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association Of Nigeria (IPMAN), has called for more collaboration between the body and the state command of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), to ensure that pipelines of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) are in a safer position for uninterrupted supply of Premium Motor Spirit(PMS) within the state.
IPMAN Chairman, Alhaji Mutiu Bukola made the call during a courtesy visit by the new Executive members of the association to the NSCDC Oyo State Command.
Alhaji Bukola who was accompanied by members of his IPMAN Excos commended the NSDC for their efforts and support given towards adequate monitoring of the Right of Ways.
He said there is the need for more support from the Corp as the Federal Government had deregulated the Oil Sector and appealed for a partnership to enable his administration to enjoy existing cordial relationship with NSCDC.
In his response, the state commandant of the NSCDC Alhaji ISKILU Akinsanya commended IPMAN members for their cooperation with the Command.
He made it known to them that the safety of lives and properties, especially curbing pipeline vandalism on the Right of Ways is the Priority of the Command.
“We will not relent our efforts while we enjoin the executives of IPMAN to Orientate their members in order to put an end to the diversion of PMS because whoever is caught will face the wrath of the Law.”
